Gisela J. has been wearing Z-CoiL shoes for the past 6 1/2 years. She owns two pairs of clogs, both with covered coils. Any Z-CoiL shoes can have the springs covered (hidden).
Today she purchased a pair of "Toffler" Z-CoiL shoes for her knee and back pain.
She learned about the Z-CoiL shoes when two co-workers told her Z-CoiL shoes are roomy, comfortable and wearing them aided in relieving their back discomfort.
Gisela J. stated prior to wearing Z-CoiL shoes, she previously had leg numbness related to her back discomfort. She's had cortisone injections into her spine for relief.
Her job as a shipping and receiving clerk at Emerald Casino requires she stand at least 7 hours per day carrying products.
Her feet do not hurt like they did prior to wearing Z-CoiL shoes.
When others ask her what kind of shoes she's wearing and why, she says, "My feet, knees and back do not hurt like they did prior to wearing Z-CoiL shoes. My Z-CoiL shoes are super comfortable and well worth the price. My Z-CoiL shoes (see photo) have lasted for over 6 years."
She's opted to have her Z-CoiL coils covered with an enclosed coil so they are not so readily seen as Z-CoiL shoes.
Currently "Your 2 Feet" is located at 1201 Pine St., 206-786-0064. We lost our lease and we're moving in late spring 2015 to Magnolia.

Mission: To Change the World
Each Day, Week and Month we deliver on our
mission of changing the world. Here is Pamela L.'s story:
"I am a nurse and am on my feet for many hours of the
day. I had been having extreme pain in my right heel. An x ray showed that I
had chipped my heel and did have some spurring. I did not know what I was going
to do. I spent many hours buying and searching for
shoes that would help with my pain. Nothing seemed to help. One day I went into
a shoe store that sold z coils, looking for an insert that would help. I ended
up buying a pair of white leather coils. From the moment that I put them on I
could tell a BIG difference in my pain. My lower back pain improved also. I
carry copies of the z coil brochures with me, and when we get patients that
complain of back or knee pain I always have my shoes on and a pamphlet to hand
out. This is me with my dog "Tinkie" I
found her abandoned underneath a bridge. She loves going on walks and I love my
Z Coils and that I am able now to walk pain free. If you notice they are the
hikers"

Maralee Eells Buys Her Fourth Pair of Z-CoiLs
You can have your Z-CoiL shoes custom adjusted for various fitting issues.
Ms. Eells's had all four pair of Z-coiL shoes she owns stretched for better fit.
She purchased a pair of High Desert hiking shoes during this shopping trip to our Seattle "Your 2 Feet" Z-CoiL Pain Relief Center.
She purchased her first pair of Z-CoiL shoes five years ago, the blue and white athletic style Z-CoiL.
At a young age, she had a total hip replacement for a genetic condition, TRP Type 1, which caused osteoarthritis and finger deformities. Her right hip replacement was earlier this year.
Since trying Z-CoiL shoes she's noticed relief in her ankle and heel. She doesn't get as tired, especially with walking, when she is wearing her Z-CoiL shoes.
When she doesn't wear her Z-CoiL shoes, her knees, shins, ankle and heels begin to ache.
In 2005, a fellow customer at Walmart told Maralee how much her Z-CoiL shoes were helping her foot and ankle pain.
When asked, she tells people how her Z-CoiL shoes help her foot, hip and back pain.
Last November, Maralee sustained an on the job injury where she worked as a hotel housekeeper in 2005.
She tried chiropractic care. Six months after her injury her hip joint was bone against bone. Her hip replacement was performed in December 2005.
Hunting season is in October. Last year Maralee shot her first deer, in August her first bear.
She lives in Raymond where she hikes hills and takes care of her 8th grade daughter Elizabeth.
Hearing our customers stories of having endured many years of symptoms, and then seeing our customers obtain relief wearing Z-CoiL shoes, is so heart warming and rewarding to us.
If you are looking for solutions to issues involving foot, leg or back, let me suggest you visit our store "Your 2 Feet", Z-CoiL of Seattle, which is located at the base of Capital Hill in Seattle.
Once you try on these impact reducing Z-CoiL shoes, you will see how the Z-CoiL shoes can help you get back to the activities you love. No appointment is necessary to be fitted for the Z-CoiL shoes.
Please call 206-786-0064 to confirm store hours. Amazon purchases are available from our online store.

Renae Shurtz Travels the World Wearing Her Z-CoiL Shoes!
Renae has been wearing Z-Coil shoes since 2009. She purchased her fifth pair of Z-Coil shoes at "Your 2 Feet", Z-Coil of Seattle store. She drove from Wenatchee to add to her collection.
Her other Z-CoiL styles are a pair of sidewinder sandals, Loryn, Mary Jane and blue and white Freedom tennis shoes.
She always purchases covers for her coils, so her coils are hidden with a covered coil. (See picture below).
Renae first sighted Z-CoiL shoes when she saw a woman wearing a pair of Z-CoiL shoes while touring Israel in 2009. At first Renae thought they were hideous. She questioned the woman about her shoes and learned how much relief she had received from wearing them..
When she returned home, a chiropractor in Boise recommended she try the shoes. Her first pair were the Z-CoiL Loryn's with a covered heel.
Renae is a retired bookkeeper. For 25 years she was her late husbands dental practice bookkeeper. After he died she continued bookkeeping for an oral surgeon.
Now retired, she enjoys traveling the continents of the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, Central and North America. Some of her trips include England, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Denmark, Scotland, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Morocco, etc. Renae's favorite places are Belize, Italy, France, Turkey. She traveled all over Turkey-Istanbul, Anatalya, Epheses.
Renae has experimented with not wearing Z-CoiL shoes for a few days. She noticed all of her joints began to hurt.
She's spent a lot of money on shoes in the past. The other shoes never helped her pain and they didn't wear as long. She ended up having to give her shoes away, including her Dansko.
When asked about her Z-CoiL experience and why she wears Z-CoiL shoes, she answers, " These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. They aren't the prettiest or sexy, but they work! I can't walk far in other shoes. Z-CoiL shoes take away the impact and my joints don't hurt. I take off my Z-CoiL shoes at airports because they set off the alarm."
Hearing our customers stories of having endured many years of symptoms, and then seeing our customers obtain relief wearing Z-CoiL shoes, is so heart warming and rewarding to us.

An Orthopedic Physician Recommended John Hunt Try Z-CoiL For His Knee Pain
John Hunt started wearing Z-CoiL shoes in 2009. He decided to purchase his second pair of Z-CoiL Liberty black athletic shoe at Z-CoiL of Seattle, "Your 2 Feet".
He credits his Z-CoiL Z-port sandals and Z-CoiL Freedom black athletic shoes for protecting his knees. He's been able to use less Ibuprofen for pain and swelling ever since wearing Z-CoiL shoes in 2009.
He experimented for 6 months not wearing his Z-CoiL shoes. His knee pain grew considerably worse.
He met an an orthopedist flying model airplanes. This doctor related he had been wearing Z-CoiL shoes for years and he recommended John try the Z-Coil shoes for his knee pain.
John has flown model airplanes for 10 years. He really likes the Calypso glider model with rudders because it can soar for hours.
John retired at 55 years old from teaching athletics and gymnastics for 32 years. He performed gymnastics in college.
Currently John teaches ESL worldwide (China, Guatemala)and at the University of Washington helping folks learn English.
John is asked, "Wow, cool shoes. What are the shoes for?"
He answers: "An orthopedic physician I met recommended I wear them. If you pronate the Z-coil shoes will cushion." (Adjusting the tension on the coils can improve pronation)
He ran marathons 25 years ago. These shoes help reduce the wear and tear on joints.

Vibrum Five Finger Shoes Settles Lawsuit Over Deceptive Marketing
If
you were one of the 70 million Americans who
purchased a pair of "barefoot running" shoes, you
may be entitled to some cash.
Vibram,
the company behind FiveFingers
shoes, just settled a $3.75 million class action lawsuit over false claims that its running
shoe yields health benefits, Runner's World reports. The thin-soled, flexible
shoes, which cost about $100 a pair, are said to mimic the experience of
running in bare feet, and thus "improve foot health" -- an
unsupported claim the company falsely advertised.
The
lawsuit was first filed by Valerie Bezdek in March 2012. According to court
filings, Bezdek claimed that Vibram deployed deceptive marketing and falsely
advertised the following benefits from wearing its shoe, without
basing its claims on any scientific research:
(1) Strengthen muscles in
the feet and lower legs
(2) Improve range of motion in the ankles, feet, and toes
(3) Stimulate neural function important to balance and agility
(4) Eliminate heel lift to align the spine and improve posture
(5) Allow the foot and body to move naturally

But experts say barefoot
running -- an experience the shoes are said to mimic -- may actually have a
negative impact on foot health.

Billings, Montana to buy her first pair of Zcoils 8 years ago. Her next
pair were purchased in Rapid City South Dakota. She came to Seattle to buy Zcoil shoes and for other reasons.

After being rear-ended twice, 4 years apart, about 15 years ago she developed back, hip and leg pain. She was diagnosed with DJD to her hip and back.

Podiatrist Shares Stretching Tips for Exercise and Walking
Stretching Tips for Exercise and Walking
When walking for exercise, it’s important to stretch before and after you walk. Follow the stretching techniques shown below and remember to stretch slowly, without bouncing. You only need to stretch far enough to feel your muscles elongating, not until you feel pain. Talk to your podiatrist, or call Dr. Kerch, if you have specific questions about your stretching routine.
1. Head Circles
Start with your ear near your right shoulder. Rotate your head around to the front, ending with your ear near the left shoulder. Roll your head back to the other side. Repeat 5-10 times.
2. Arm Circles
Lift arms out at your sides and make forward arm circles. Keep your palms facing in and your thumb pointed down. Make 20 forward circles with each arm. Then make backwards arm circles with your palm facing out, thumb pointed up. Make 20 backward circles with each arm.
3. Ankle Circles
While sitting or lying down, lift your right leg from the hip so that your thigh is about 1 inch off the ground/chair. Keeping your knee straight, rotate the foot at the ankle joint slowly in a circular motion. Make 10 circles with your ankle going clockwise and 10 going counterclockwise. Repeat with your left leg.
4. Hip Stretch
Stand up and take a step back with your right foot. Bend your left knee and shift your weight back to your right hip. Keep the right leg straight, bend forward more and reach further down your right leg. Hold for 20 seconds. Then repeat on the other side.
5. Side Reaches
Reach one arm over your head and to the side. Keep your hips steady and your shoulders straight to the side. Hold for 20 seconds and repeat on the other side.
6. Leg Curl (Quadriceps Stretch)
Stand straight up and if necessary, hold onto a wall for support. Bend your right foot behind you to your buttocks with your right hand. Keep standing up straight and push your knee gently back as far as you can comfortably go, keeping your heel in place. Hold for 20 seconds and repeat with your left foot and hand.
7. Wall Push (Calf Stretch)
Lean into a wall with your feet about 3-4 feet away from the wall, bracing yourself with your arms. Bend one knee and point it toward the wall. Keep your back leg straight with your foot flat, your head up and your toes pointed straight ahead. Keeping your back straight, move hips forward until you feel a stretch. Hold for 20 seconds and repeat with the other leg.
8. Achilles Stretch
From the calf stretch position, bend your knee back so your leg straightens, stretching the Achilles tendon. Keep your heel down and hold for 20 seconds. Repeat on the other side.
9. Triceps
Stretch your arms up over your head. Bend the right arm, pushing the right elbow back and down with your left hand. Hold for 20 seconds. Repeat on the other side.
10. Hip flexors, hamstrings and lower back
Bend your right leg forward until your knee is directly over your ankle. Rest your left knee on the ground. Keeping your right leg in place, lower your hips and slide your left leg back slightly, stretching as far as you are comfortable. Hold for 20 seconds and then repeat on the other side.
Don't underestimate the importance of stretching to prevent injury and to promote health.
Dr. Lotchie M. Kerch is accepting new patients in our Capital Hill location:
