Special Olympics

This was my first time volunteering at a Special Olympics event. Our covered outdoor venue "Fit Feet" was sandwiched between the eye, ear, and general health booths at the Fort Lewis army base. I was doing foot screeings of the athletes and their chaperones promoting proper shoegear, socks, and assesing for foot conditions that might limit their endeavors. We handed out a hundred or so Wright Socks, donated by that company to the athletes.

I was impressed by the sincerity of this group of young people, their families and chaperones. We can see the world through their eyes by the efforts they expend doing the activities that come so easily for most of us. Congratulations to the many who participated and to those that make these events possible.
